Owner Summary
After about 3 years of searching for properties, we settled on this very beautiful property in Loei Province, which is in the North of Thailand and has cooler weather in the winter. We had already been living in Phuket, Thailand but it had become so congested, we could not even get to the beach from our home in the central island. We looked at Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai in the north which were very popular, but now also very congested and both with bad polluted air for several months each year. We considered Samui Island which is also quite congested now. So we chose a beautiful 20 Rai (8 acre) hillside property in Loei, which has a domestic airport and which is about 30 minutes from town: Big C, Lotus, Macro, Home Pro, Global, and Loie Airport.
The land itself is quite beautiful, with many unobstructed mountain views, and we were able to grow almost all of the Thai fruit…mango, papaya, Thai cherry, guava, rose apple (bell fruit), longan, banana, limes, lemons, oranges, coconut etc. Two stands of rubber trees on each side of the drive provide shade. The fruit trees are still on the property and are good producers.
Although we had originally built a house, it has been torn down as we felt every one has their own dream idea, plus, as now absentee owners, we did not want the headache of maintaining a house from overseas, and so only the land is available for sale.
